The desk
uufinds is a small product-test desk in Portland, Oregon. We publish hands-on reviews, buying guides, and timed tests of shopping agents. Three editors run the site with help from a part-time bench assistant, and every product we rank has been ordered by our team and used on our bench.
Nora Whitfield founded uufinds in 2020 after thirteen years covering retail pricing, returns policy, and consumer gear. The name started as an internal joke about the weekly board where we pinned the one item from that week's testing we would spend our own money on. The board became the site.
Who works here
- Nora Whitfield, Editor-in-Chief. Owns the screening worksheet, the five-point scale, and every retest notice.
- Marcus Bell, Reviews Editor. Runs the test calendar, the unboxing audits, and the two-week durability cycle.
- Priya Raghavan, Research Editor. Verifies specs, tracks price history, and times shopping agents against our standing 12-item list.
Where we work
The desk sits in a 640-square-foot unit on Southeast Division Street in Portland. It holds a calibrated postal scale, a Class 2 sound meter, a thermal camera, a torque gauge, an abrasion drum, and a timing rig we built for shopping agents. Orders arrive at the same address, which is how we catch shipping damage before it turns into a review note.
How the site is funded
uufinds earns affiliate commissions from some outbound links and from newsletter sponsorships. Commissions fund the products we order. Sponsored placements are labelled at the top of the page, and no sponsor sees a score before publication.

Specifications put to use
uufinds helps readers move from a product specification to the checks that matter in daily use. Our comparisons connect the tested unit, the intended user, instrument readings and practical alternatives rather than treating a listing as a review.
