What we publish

uufinds publishes hands-on reviews, comparison guides, and timed agent tests. Every ranked product in a review or guide has been ordered and tested by a member of the desk. We do not build a ranking from spec sheets, and we do not publish a ranking we cannot describe in testing notes a reader could repeat.

Sourcing rules

  • Primary sources first: the listing, the spec sheet, the manual, and the unit on our bench.
  • Second sources are named and dated: manufacturer statements, retailer policy pages, archived prices.
  • No anonymous claims about a product's performance. If we cannot see it, we do not print it.
  • Brands, model numbers, and identifiers are reproduced exactly as they appear on the listing or the unit.

Scoring

All scores use a five-point scale written as X / 5: 5 excellent, 4 good, 3 adequate, 2 poor, 1 very poor. Hands-on and agent scores may occupy the full 1 to 5 scale. Screening does not justify a positive-only score floor. Every score is explained in the review, including the trade-offs that produced it.

Sponsors and review units

We order the products we rank. Where a manufacturer sends a unit for a scheduled retest, the review says so in the first paragraph. Sponsorships are labelled at the top of the page. Sponsors do not see scores, drafts, or testing notes before publication.

Sources and limits

Listed specifications, instrument readings and daily-use observations are attributed separately. An agent comparison is described as a timed service test rather than a product bench result.
